Environmental Data Base Series #1
This series presents Internet-based data bases that are useful in obtaining information on environmental conditions of properties. These sites have traditionally been constructed for the use of regulators. Environmental consultants use them routinely in their research. Real estate lenders, developers, attorneys and redevelopment professionals will also find there most valuable data. If you need help in understanding certain information or terminology, please do not hesitate to call me. I’ll be happy to give you a hand.
DTSC is the California EPA Department of Toxic Substances Control,
On January 31, 2006, DTSC launched its new Brownfields site database, EnviroStor.
EnviroStor provides comprehensive site information on contaminated properties, formerly-contaminated properties that have been released for reuse, properties under evaluation, properties where environmental deed restrictions have been recorded to prevent inappropriate land uses, and risk characterization information that is used to assess potential impacts to public health and the environment at contaminated sites.
The EnviroStor profile Reports also contain links to view final documents and additional information on specific investigation or cleanup areas within each site. For more information, please refer to the EnviroStor fact sheet.
